Paper and finish

Mug: 11oz white ceramic.

Which photo works

Upload the original file, not a screenshot or a picture saved from a messaging app. Once it is uploaded, each size shows the sharpness your file gives it: 300 dpi or more is excellent, 140 to 300 prints well, and under 140 that size cannot be chosen.

Delivery and returns

Delivery times by format, how to report a fault and what we reprint are all on the delivery and returns page.

Getting the file

Save the file somewhere safe once it arrives. If anything looks wrong, reply to that email and we will put it right.

This mug prints your own photograph of the aircraft as it is: upload the picture, see it checked against the mug, and order. No restyle and no typed layout.

Which photos work on a pilot mug

A clear aircraft that fills most of the frame reads best at mug scale. Use the original file rather than a screenshot or a copy taken from social media. The plane spotting photo tips cover what makes a shot hold up.

Pilot mug size and print area

White ceramic, 11oz. The print area is 200 by 96 mm across the outside of the mug. It is made to order and delivered free to UK addresses.

Airport code mugs and art-style mugs

For their airfield instead of their aircraft, the airport code print also comes as a mug. To have the photo redrawn in an art style first, the aircraft print sells the mug too.

A small gift: an aircraft mug with a personal subject

Render of a white 11 oz ceramic mug, handle on the left: the tail and engine of a white business jet over cloud on the side you see.
A second example photo on the same 11oz mug, wrapped round the body.

A mug puts the aircraft into an everyday setting without needing wall space. For a larger display gift, compare the wall-art formats. The gift guides help you choose around the person and the occasion, and gifts for pilots covers a pilot in particular. The photo print puts the same photograph on other formats.

Mug questions

How long does a mug take?
It is printed to order, arrives in 4 to 9 working days, and UK delivery costs you nothing. The bag shows the same window before you pay.
Can I send a mug back?
Not for a change of heart once it has been printed, since it was personalised for you. If it arrives chipped, faulty or not as described, contact us as soon as you notice for a replacement or a refund. A full refund by rejection is yours for 30 days; the Consumer Rights Act protects you beyond that.
Can I put my own aircraft photo on a mug?
Yes. Upload the photograph and the page checks it against the mug before you order. It is printed as you took it, with no restyle, so use the original file and a photograph you own or have permission to reproduce.
How big is the mug?
It is an 11oz white ceramic mug, made to order and delivered free to UK addresses.
Can it say Captain and a name?
No. There's no name field anywhere on this site. This mug carries your photograph. For an airfield instead, the airport code print comes as a mug too.
How big is the printed area?
200 by 96 mm across the outside of the mug.
