Which photo works

Upload the original file, not a screenshot or a picture saved from a messaging app. Once it is uploaded, each size shows the sharpness your file gives it: 300 dpi or more is excellent, 140 to 300 prints well, and under 140 that size cannot be chosen.

30x40 cm, 40x50 cm and 50x70 cm. No frame, no glazing, no paper. It's the odd one out here and it knows it. The image is printed onto the panel itself, which is why the piece is thin, rigid and light for its size.

Which photos suit a metal print

The person who kept the photograph rather than restyling it. A clean three-quarter shot of an airframe in good light, with the panel lines and the detail intact, is the one subject on this site that gains from a hard, non-absorbent surface. Paper takes ink into the fibre and softens it very slightly. Metal doesn't.

That's also the warning. Metal shows you exactly what is in the file. A soft frame, a heavy crop or a long digital zoom that has gone mushy will be more obvious here than anywhere else in the catalogue, and no surface rescues a photograph that was not sharp to begin with. Metal print finish: not brushed aluminium

You will find aviation shops describing metal prints as brushed aluminium with a grain running through them. Ours is not that. The product specification carries no grain direction and no edge treatment, so the copy here does not invent one, and if that texture is what you were after this is not the product that has it.

Where an aircraft metal print suits a room

A study, a home office, a modern room with hard light in it. Frameless and thin means it sits close to the wall and reads as a panel more than a picture, which suits a room with clean lines and does very little for a cottage sitting room. For that, the canvas is the better answer.

How soon does a metal print ship?
Panels are printed to order and arrive in 4 to 9 working days. UK delivery is free, and the bag shows the same window before you pay.
What is the returns position?
A panel made from your photograph is personalised, so once production begins the standard cancellation right has gone. Damage, a fault, or a piece that is not as described is covered: contact us promptly for a replacement or a refund. The first 30 days carry a full-refund right to reject, and your Consumer Rights Act rights run on after them.
How is it hung?
There is no frame and no glazing. The image is printed onto a 3 mm aluminium panel, which is rigid and light enough to sit close to the wall.
Is the aluminium brushed?
No. The product specification names no grain and no edge treatment, so we don't describe one.
